Mission & Accommodations
Broom Tree Retreat Center, constructed in 2004 by the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls, provides facilities and opportunities to support all people of faith as they experience an awakening to God’s continual call to conversion and as they deepen their response to it.
Located six miles west of Irene, South Dakota on 300 rolling acres of the beautiful Missouri Valley, the Retreat Center provides modern, clean, and comfortable lodging rooms with private baths, queen sized beds and a couch or recliner as a standard for each guest. The full kitchen staff is also on hand to provide delicious, freshly prepared meals.

Chapels
The Chapel of Saint Paul in the Retreat Center is an Adoration Chapel that can accommodate up to 60 people. Sts. Isidore & Maria Chapel (the white church) on the grounds can seat 120+.

Five dedicated spiritual direction rooms are available:

Lodging Rooms
Each of our two wings offer twenty-four sleeping rooms with a private bathroom, queen bed, writing desk, dresser, and a recliner or couch. In addition to these rooms, there is one suite that includes a living area, full kitchen, bedroom & bathroom. Towels & linens are provided in all rooms.
Meeting Rooms
Sercl Room – This meeting room can seat up to 48 people at classroom style tables. For larger groups, the walls adjacent to the dining area can be opened to offer seating at round tables for up to 84 people. Various set-up options are available along with audio-visual equipment including a ceiling-mounted or portable projector, sound, and mic systems.
Puetz Room – This meeting room off the lobby can accommodate groups of 10-16 comfortably.
East Wing Meeting Room – This room at the north end of the East Wing has a board room table that seats 10. It also offers a kitchenette with two dorm fridges, a microwave, coffee maker, and hand sink.
Dining Room
The Jewett dining room seats groups of 36-42 comfortably at round tables. For larger groups, the walls to the Sercl room are opened to offer seating up to 84 people.
Meals are provided by our excellent kitchen staff. All meals are served buffet style. Please contact us to discuss meal options.
Exercise Room
The exercise room is fully equipped with a treadmill, elliptical machine, weight machine, free weights & bench as well as core and resistance equipment.
