Couples Retreat

Directed by Ed & Jen Hogan with Father Scott Traynor

“Remain in me, as I remain in you…Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.” John 10:4-5

The goal of Catholic marriage is to die as saints under the tutelage of one another’s love. During this retreat, you and your spouse will have the blessed opportunity to spend time receiving from the very heart of God all that you need to love in this way. The environment at Broom Tree provides beautiful, peaceful surroundings, good food, and all the time and good direction you need to dispose yourselves to the river of grace that lives in your marriage. The retreat begins on Friday night with registration from 5:00-6:30 p.m. and runs through lunchtime on Sunday. Broom Tree sponsored retreats are run by donation. The value of this retreat is $375/couple. We ask that you prayerfully consider your gift.

About the Hogan’s:

Jen Hogan is a wife, mother, and has been a spiritual director for over 20 years.  Ed Hogan is the Academic Dean at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri. He served for many years with Father Jim Mason as part of a team that specialized in integrating human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation. Ed has also taught for the Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha, NE.

Ed and Jen have 6 children and live in Saint Louis, Missouri. They have been married long enough to realize how little they knew when they got married (at 22), and how much they still have to learn. They have discovered that both their strengths and their weaknesses are a gift to each other, and that it’s better and easier to be on God’s journey than their own.
